Overview
The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training relates to the Security Industry Authority specification for Conflict Management Trainers.
This programme is designed to provide:
- Training for those working in the security sector or similar industries who have a responsibility to provide conflict management training to others
- Opportunities for personnel who train in the security sector or similar industries to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally-specific qualification
- The knowledge, understanding and skills that learners need to provide effective conflict management training
- Opportunities for learners to focus on the development of the major key skills and the wider key skills in a security and conflict management context, such as improving own learning and performance, working with others and problem solving
- Opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes that are essential for successful performance in a training environment.
Structure of the qualification
The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training is a 60 hour qualification consisting of 2 units delivered as 30 hours pre course study and a 2 Day guided learning programme.
To achieve the whole qualification, a learner must successfully complete both units.
Unit 1 Principles and Practices of Conflict Management and Training
On completion of this unit a learner should:
- Know about the principles and practices of conflict management and training in a specified context
- Understand how the principles of conflict management are implemented in a specified context.
Unit 2 Scenario-based Learning and Training in Conflict Management
On completion of this unit a learner should:
- Be able to facilitate and deliver scenario-based learning and training in conflict management
- Be able to complete a self-assessment, group and personal debrief.

Edexcel Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Conflict Management Training.
